Live wedding painting is a unique service where an artist like myself creates a painting from start to finish as your wedding day unfolds. You choose what moment you wish to have captured in paint; for example, your first kiss, first dance, or even one of the poses you'll be striking with the photographer. Beyond having a custom painting to hang in your home and cherish for years to come, it's also a once-in-a-lifetime experience and unique form of entertainment for your guests—one that you, your partner, your family, and guests will be able to witness firsthand.

MY STYLE

I work in acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvas.

My philosophy is to capture your special moment in a relatively realistic style with a whimsical, impressionistic twist. I believe a painting should enhance the ambiance of the moment in a way a picture can not.

I prefer to spotlight on the couple, focusing on the union of your lives together. As I trust you will have a talented photographer capturing every curated detail of your decor, venue, and guests, I will focus the painting on you and your spouse in a classic, elegant, and timeless manner.

HOW IT WORKS

BEFORE
the wedding

Congrats! You've already taken the first step by being here. Next, take a look at my previous works and read my FAQ to find out if I can be a good fit for your big day. View my packages and let me know if you have any questions by contacting me. Inquire about my availability for your date by filling out the inquiry form below. Once your inquiry has been reviewed we will flesh out the details and discuss your vision before you'll sign my contract and pay the 50% deposit.

DURING
the wedding

I will bring everything needed and arrive 3-4 hours prior to your selected moment to set up and start painting the background. Once the moment takes place I will take reference photos of you and your spouse to continue the painting. I will then paint my heart out throughout your reception, for your guests to delight in! By the end of the evening the painting will be revealed to you and your spouse. It will be close to completion at this point, but all packages include additional in-studio touch ups.

AFTER
the wedding

I will bring the painting back to my studio to do touch up and add details. I will then send you photos to approve the final painting before I add varnish and safely ship or deliver the painting to you. 2 revisions and additional painting time is included in all packages, as well as shipping or delivery (depending on address). Enjoy your first custom artwork as a married couple! The painting is made with high quality materials to last for generations.

TRAVEL

Travel within 30 miles is included in the painting price, from Rahway, NJ.

For further travel by car, my rate is $0.70 per mile there and back.

Travel by plane is determined at-cost and I am willing to travel anywhere in the world.

Accommodations

Depending on the time of day and location of your wedding, additional accommodation fees may apply. This fee is determined at-cost, but usually ranges $160-$200 depending on the city.

I will bring everything needed! My setup is fairly simple, and consists of my easel, a small folding table, a small folding chair, a discreet light and a floor cover.

The space needed is approximately 4 x 5', and access to a sink and outlet is appreciated. You will need to coordinate with your venue in advance about where and when I can set up.

If your venue requires proof of insurance, this can be provided upon request.

First, complete the inquiry form, and include all information about your special day that you have available at the moment. I will then get back to you at my earliest convenience with my availability, a custom proposal, and schedule a time for an introductory phone call.

Moving forward, I will provide my contract and collect a 50% deposit. Once the contract is signed at the deposit paid, your date is secured! The remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to the event date.

*Please note that my availability may change at any time until your booking is complete.

Scenes happening earlier in the day will be closer to completion by the end of your reception. For example, for weddings, a scene from the first look or ceremony will allow for more painting time than the first dance.

The end result is of course my top priority. Accordingly, all of my proposals include in-studio touch-ups, 2 revisions and shipping. Your painting will be shipped or delivered at the earliest convenience after in-studio completion. Depending on the time of year and overall schedule, the timing may vary between 2-12 weeks.

I paint on gallery wrapped canvas measuring approximately 1.5" deep, and I will paint the sides of the canvas to match the front. Depending on your interior design vision, you might decide to hang the painting as is, or maybe wish to invest in a frame.

For frames, I recommend a classic floater frame, which can be found online or at your local frame shop or arts & craft store. I only paint on standard sized canvas, so finding a fitting frame should be an easy endeavour.

If you decide to hang the painting as-is, the canvas can easily be hung from two nails or renter-friendly adhesives.

Travel by car

I am located in Rahway, New Jersey, and service all of NJ, NYC and the south of NY state by car, as well as northern PA.

Travel within 30 miles is included in the painting price. For further travel by car, my milage rate is $0.70 to and from the location.
